Kempische Heideschaap Yarn
100g Skeins – ~275m – Sport Weight
Locally Sourced Wool with Heritage and Heart
This beautifully rustic sport-weight yarn is made from the fleece of the Kempische Heideschaap, a heritage breed native to the heathlands of Dutch and Belgian Brabant and Limburg. These sheep graze freely in national parks, where they support local biodiversity through ecological grazing practices.
Each 100g skein contains approximately 275 meters of yarn, making it ideal for lightweight garments and accessories. The yarn is spun in Germany from wool washed in Belgium, then hand-dyed in small batches in my studio in the Netherlands. The current palette includes 12 rich and varied colourways, each created with care to highlight the natural texture of this regional wool.
Because every dye lot is unique, I recommend purchasing a bit more than you think you'll need for your project—exact colour matches can be hard to repeat!
Yarn Details:
100g / ~275m skeins
Sport weight
Suggested needles: 3–4mm (US 4–6)
Wool type: 100% Kempische Heideschaap

Light sweaters, shawls, textured stitches, natural colourwork, and projects that connect you to the land and its traditions.

Specific Notes:
Blue has patches of pinky/purple and teal/green.
Lagoon has a banana/neon yellow patch and some bright blue speckles
Midnight is not a solid black; it has a heathered look with light grey
